Star Trek 3, found the new Director: Justin Lin!

After a couple of weeks ago she came to surprise the news that Roberto Orci NOT have more direct the third installment of the saga of Star Trek, it has now been found a replacement: Justin Lin. Will he, already behind the camera of four chapters in the saga of Fast and Furious, to sign the direction of Star Trek 3.

In May this year the writer Roberto Orci had been officially confirmed director of the third installment of the saga of Star Trek, then taking the baton from JJ Abrmas. However, a couple of weeks ago, had received the news that he would no longer be directing the film. From there, it is triggered rumors about who might take his place and thus emerged a supposed short list: among the favorite names from Paramount would therefore Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes, The Gambler), Morten Tyldum (the Imitaion Game), Daniel Espinosa (Child 44), Justin Lin (remained free after the postponement of the Bourne Legacy 2), and Duncan Jones (Warcraft).

Today is announced the new Director: Justin Lin. Will he, or the name behind four of the chapters in the saga of Fast and Furious to take the place of Orci in the control room and to direct Star Trek 3. Although Lin is very busy on the set of the second season of True Detective, the director has still a gap in his schedule after that Universal has postponed the release of the sequel to focus on the Bourne Bourne Legacy directed by Paul Greengrass and starring Matt Damon.

Finally, I remind you that Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Anton Yelchin, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, Zoe Saldana and John Cho should go in the cast of the film. As you know, Orci is known mostly for his work as a screenwriter teamed with Alex Kurtzman: the duo behind the major blockbuster of the past 10 years and they are the scripts of the sagas of The Amazing Spider-Man, Transformers, Star Trek but also of Now You See Me, and Cowboys & Aliens. Star Trek 3 would mark of made his directorial debut. The film is scheduled for July 8, 2016, just when will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the franchise.
