In May this year the writer Roberto Orci had been officially confirmed director of the third installment of the saga of Star Trek, then taking the baton from JJ Abrmas. However, a couple of weeks ago, had received the news that he would no longer be directing the film, but at the time it was said that Orci "would have been heavily involved in the project as a producer," and in many sites - including the influential the New York Times and the Daily News and the authoritative TrekMovie.com - had taken for granted its participation also the script (along with the rest Orci Alex Kurtzman had signed scripts also preceded the two chapters of the saga Star Trek).

Instead it will not: Roberto Orci NOT write the screenplay for Star Trek 3. To confirm it is himself in the comments of the site trekmovie.com writing "I will produce the film, nothing more, nothing less."
