The team behind the Little Prince will make a 3D film about Playmobil

Even Playmobil debut in theaters in a feature-length animated budget of $ 80 million. Designed by Hans Beck this line of German toys sold since its creation in 1974 until today, 2.7 billion figurines in more than 100 countries worldwide.

Dimitri Rassam and Aton Soumache of ON Entertainment have secured the film rights and the Wild Bunch and Pathe co-develop the film. One of the divisions of the animated ON Entertainment, based in Montreal, will handle production. At the head of development was put Bob Persichetti who served as head of story on Monsters vs. Aliens, Shrek 2 and Puss in Boots.

Rassam told Variety that the creative team who worked on the animated film The Little Prince 3D, which was also part Persichetti, the film will work on Playmobil. Production are Rassam, Soumache, Alexis Vonarb and Moritz Borman, while Axel von Maydell of Morgen Studios will co-produce the film.

The film will Playmobil distribuit worldwide by the end of 2017
